So there I was about to say the realities of existence are rarely grasped by viewing things as being either-or. Reality eludes such attempts to define it as black or white, yin or yang. Truth is neither one thing or another, nor even a compromise of the two, but an embracing of the opposites. Black and white, yin and yang do not stand in opposition to each other, they complement each other in a dance of eternal equilibrium. You cannot have light without dark, day without night, soft times without hard times. There is no need to fight yourself or attempt to force yourself into a position. Embrace the contradictions within, don’t try to resolve them as that’s an unnecessary misuse of your time and mental energy. Things resolve themselves given time and space to do so. Simply observe yourself and the way your life pans out and reserve judgement until you’re as big as the universe and are in a position to encompass all relevant factors in your line of sight – in other words, not while you’re in this body. It’s perfectly fine for you to have contradictions. Don’t fight yourself over it. If you find yourself being sceptical, be sceptical but be a hopeful sceptic. Look deep into the abyss but in your mind, emphasise life and light. Live life to the full on every level – don’t hold back - but never to the detriment of the civilised virtues: honesty, integrity, generosity, dignity, modesty and so on. Remain closely in touch with the richness of the unconscious mind but shed on it the light of reflection without destroying the spontaneity of its processes. Be wholly committed to the adventure of science and partake of the benefits of technology but stand in awe and reverence before the mystery of the universe I was about to say it but noticed I was fighting myself over it. Should I or shouldn’t I?
