With Ibiza Summer 2008 heading for its peak, its time once again to think Charity Fund Raising by way of the 3rd Annual Butterfly Ball.
This year, the organisers of the event (Jill Canney & Elena Sanchez) have, after careful consideration, chosen local Ibiza association for disabled children, APNEEF as the charity of choice, with all monies raised at The Butterfly Ball being donated to that particular worthy cause.
APNEEF attends nearly 100 local children with severe physical and mental disabilities and is in dire need of proper funding and support. So, lets help them, folks.
The Butterfly Ball 2007
Thanks to an amazing circle of friends, last year's event was an outstanding success and raised nearly 12k for Macmillan Cancer Support and it's Spanish equivalent, AECC. Nearly 7k of that came by way of the Celebrity Auction with signed and personal items having been donated from the likes of David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Pau Gasol, Mark Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs, Pete Tong, Marcos Torres, Gary Cook, FatboySlim, Manumission, Ibiza Rocks, Hed Kandi and so on and on and on amongst many other internationally recognised names. The event took place in Hotel Es Vive and received much appraisal and press coverage.

This year's Ball will once again take place in Hotel Es Vive and donations are already coming in for auction by various well known personalities from the worlds of music, theatre, art and sport.
Whilst details on the event are currently being finalized, so far, so good- The Butterfly Ball is shaping up nicely and tickets will soon be on sale. The night will follow pretty much the same formula as last year with a few extras- champagne reception, dinner, auction, live acts, a bit of charidee karaoke, DJs and a bit of an all round knees up, and all for a great island cause (these kids really do need help)
Wanna Help?
All donations gratefully received! If you have something lurking round your house/office/garage that you think might raise a bob or two, let us know.
We are also looking for collaborators, sponsors and investors to help take this fundraiser to the next level. If you or your company would like to make a cash donation directly to APNEEF, that would also be very welcomed.
Volunteers wanted..we couldn't do this without the help of the many generous individuals involved. Many hands make light work, both pre event and on the night itself.
Bums on Seats…on the night of the event. Not only an excuse to dress up and dine out, The Butterfly Ball is shaping up to be another great night’s merriment and of course, to hammer it home, ‘all for a good cause’.

Con vistas al final de la temporada 2008, es hora de volver a pensar en los que nos necesitan. Por eso, ya llevamos unos meses teniendo muy presente que es tiempo de celebrar la tercera edición del evento benéfico THE BUTTERFLY BALL. Este año, el dinero recaudado irá a parar a la Asociación de Niños con Necesidades Especiales de Ibiza y Formentera, APNEEF. Un colectivo que ayuda a más de 100 niños con diferentes discapacidades y problemas físicos y psíquicos en las Pitiusas. Así que, todos a ayudar…
The Butterfly Ball 2007
Gracias a un buen puñado de amigos, el pasado año, la segunda edición de THE BUTTERFLY BALL recaudó hasta 10.000 euros que destinamos a la Macmillan Cancer Support en Reino Unido y a la sede ibicenca de la Asociación Española contra el Cáncer. Casi 6.000 euros fueron recaudados a través de la subasta llevada a cabo con diferentes objetos donados por personajes como David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Pau Gasol, Mark Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs, Marcos Torres, Pete Tong, Jesús de Miguel, Gary Cook, Fatboy Slim, Manumission, Ibiza Rocks o Hed Kandi, entre otros nombres con sello internacional.
El evento sucedió en el Hotel Es Vive y recibió una cobertura mediática increíble.

Este año el evento también sucederá en el Hotel Es Vive y hasta la fecha ya tenemos interesantes aportaciones para la subasta que llegan de artistas del mundo de la música, el teatro, el deporte o la pintura.
Mientras vamos confirmando otros detalles, el evento seguirá la línea de la edición anterior, aunque con novedades, por supuesto. Un año más, la fórmula consiste en un ticket de entrada con el que se podrá disfrutar de una recepción de champagne, una cena, la subasta y fiesta en el bar interior del Hotel.
¿Quieres ayudar?
- Todas las donaciones son bienvenidas. Si tienes algún objeto por tu casa u oficina que consideres puede ayudar a recaudar algo de dinerillo, dínoslo.
- Estamos buscando patrocinadores y colaboradores. Si tu empresa quiere participar con donaciones, estaremos la mar de agradecidos (sobre todo APNEEF, claro)
- Necesitamos voluntarios. THE BUTTERFLY BALL no puede suceder sin la ayuda altruista de personas que quieran dedicar un poquito de su tiempo a esta causa para preparar el evento.
