Discreetly Amazed
To strike a balance between the peace of letting go into acquiescing to the inevitability of fate and applying your free will to the crucial drive to survive, depends on the energy generated in the spleen and kidneys respectively.
When the spleen, or more precisely, the area of the body below the ribs on the left where the spleen is situated, is generating efficiently, you naturally feel satisfied with whatever is or isn’t going on within and around you.
When the kidney region in the lower back is generating efficiently, you are imbued with ample will to achieve all goals.
By stimulating the production of energy in both, the body establishes a natural balance between the two, which in turn is felt instinctually and instantly beneficially influences the balance between containment and acting out, which in turn directly influences the levels of elegance with which life works out for you.
There are many ways in which to effect this stimulation, the simplest of which involves merely chanting the highly efficacious ancient Taoist healing sounds for each organ, one after the other for approximately six breaths and it goes like this.
Sitting, standing, lying or crouching comfortably, breathe in deeply and chant, as resonantly as possible, the spleen-healing sound, HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, feeling it vibrate under the ribs on the left. Now chant the kidney-healing sound, FUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, starting the FU section in falsetto and letting the sound of your voice dive deep down into the kidney region with the bass note during the IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII section.
Then repeat the HUUUUUUUUUU sound and then the FUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII sound and then again.
Repeat this as an experiment up to three times today and by tomorrow you’ll notice a distinct subtle change in the levels of your urge to either contain or act out. Keep it going on some sort of regular basis and over time, you’ll be discreetly amazed at the effect.
May you be so discreetly amazed today and tonight, dear reader, it’s all you can do not to fall off your chair.
Love, Barefoot
