I call this advanced level because it’s a powerful technique that induces a huge degree of relaxation and wellbeing and an upsurge of vitality in the midst of activity yet must be done carefully, following the instructions properly and under no circumstances overdoing it. Subtlety is the key here - the more subtle you are with this one, the more powerful its effect will be. Overdoing this could exacerbate high blood pressure and the like, hence why it’s vital to do it so gently it’s almost as if you’re doing nothing at all.
As you sit or stand there, breathe slowly, drop your shoulders and relax everywhere by thinking soft.
Now become aware of your spinal column and get a sense of contracting all your muscles towards your spinal column, as if drawing yourself into your spine from head to toe, yet do so, so gently you are almost doing nothing at all. What you’re actually doing is tensing all the muscles in your body at the same time, from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes, drawing all muscles into towards the bones supporting them – wherever they are – and holding it for a split second, then releasing.
Repeat this all-over tense and release nine times but as you do so do not hold your breath – it’s crucial you keep the breath flowing freely as you both tense and release, otherwise you merely increase stress-levels and that’s totally counterproductive, not just to this exercise but to your whole life. So breathe in as you tense and breathe out as you release without a pause between.
When you’ve done nine rounds, take a moment to let go completely and enjoy the sensation of vitality coursing through your system, making you feel both more relaxed and more energized at the same time.
I wish you a day and night of absolute serenity and tranquillity in the midst of the action, leading to an astonishing level of accomplishment in everything you do, in turn leading to a whole new set of brilliant opportunities coming your way today.
