Stop Holding Your Breath
As well as keeping you alive from one moment to the next, the way you breathe – the tempo, the smoothness, the depth, the evenness and general quality – directly affects the way you’re feeling and the way you’re feeling in turn affects the way you’re experiencing the world, which in turn affects the way the world treats you.
You hold your breath without realising as a bogus device to protect you from the potential pain of being alive.
But when your breath gets stuck, your mind gets stuck, your feelings get stuck and your life gets stuck and that just causes more pain not less.
Breathe freely and you free up your mind, your feelings and your life. Breathe steadily and your mind, your feelings and your life will steady up. Breathe deeply (fully) and your mind, your feelings and your life will have depth (be full). Breathe smoothly and your mind, your feelings and your life will run smoothly. Breathe softly and you mind and feelings will soften and life will treat you softly.
My wish: life will treat you so softly today, you’ll feel as if you’re floating wrapped in cotton wool.
